On this female-only travel group, we will witness the rich tribal heritage of Meghalaya where the age-old culture lives in perfect harmony of the modernised world. Mawlynnong, a village inhabited by the Khasi tribe, is also the cleanest village of Asia. Explore this haven of root bridges alongside the tribal groups in the village while soaking in the awe inspiring views. While also exploring the landscapes of the David Scott trails - a scenic walk through the forests of the land.

Itinerary

  • Arrival

    Shillong

    Fly to Guwahati from your respective city and then drive to Shillong Book a morning flight that lands in Guwahati
    GAU around 10:00am.
    Drive to Shillong. We will stop at Borapani Lake, it’s also named Umiam lake and is one of the biggest lakes in
    Shillong. Evening free to relax and explore. Finish your day with an authentic Khasi dinner in Police Bazar.

  • Zip lining and Cave tour

    Cherrapunji – better known as Sohra – is one of the wettest places on Earth. Enroute enjoy activities like zip lining,
    cave tour, few picturesque waterfalls and post lunch reach Cherrapunji in the evening.

  • Double Decker Route Bridge Trek

    After breakfast, trek to the Living Root Bridge. The trek normally takes two hours. The route is replete with small
    village where one can relax and explore rural life. One of the major attractions here are the living roots bridges.
    A slightly tough trek leads you to these bridges, which are naturally made from roots of trees braided together. They
    are set to grow across the river, thus making life easier for locals. There are a number of these root bridges that
    travellers can trek to and each of them looks like something out of a fantasy novel. However, there is another Living
    root Bridge, which has “Two Tiers”. This amazing bridge is a two-tier living Root Bridge (made of the roots of a living
    tree), connecting a chasm with a pool of jade water below. The two tiers measure 59ft and 83ft in length
    respectively. The trek to this double decker is tough but worth the pains.

  • Exploring Waterfalls

    Our adventure in Cherrapunji continues where you explore the hidden waterfalls, trails and streams. The day is filled with mesmerising beauty of the forests and melodious chirping of the birds. Cover the David Scott trail with us, passing through the Eastern Khasi Hills. It is one of the rarest preserved beauties of Meghalaya. The trail passes through quaint Khasi villages, ancient sacred groves, lush green meadows, sparse fields, rolling mountains, rushing streams, stone bridges, and natural pools. After this adventure filled day, we will retire back to the hotel for dinner and have a good night’s sleep.

  • Mawlynnong

    Mawlynnong Village located in the East Khasi Hills of Meghalaya, also referred as ‘God’s own garden’ has won the acclaim of being the cleanest village in Asia in 2003. The village known for its cleanliness is located around 90 kms from Shillong and is a community-based ecotourism initiative. The community has made collective effort to maintain the ambience of a clean village.

  • Drive back to Shillong

    Wake up early and take a walk around the beautiful village with its hundred-year-old church to see how everyone, from kids to elders, strive to keep even the tiniest bit of trash off the streets. After breakfast get to visit the India-Bangladesh border at Dawki and experience the transparent waters of the Umngkot River. Head to the boating at the serene crystal waters of the Dawki river.
    Once back in Shillong, explore Police Bazaar in the evening and enjoy the wide range of street food there. Evening free to relax and explore.

  • Hugs and Goodbyes

    After breakfast, check out from hotel, drop to airport.
    Please book your air tickets after 2:00pm.
    Don’t forget to airdrop/Whatsapp your pictures. Give us a hug and say goodbye.

  • Expenses occurred due to bad weather, flight or ferry cancellation, strike or political unrest to be paid by guest as per actuals.

CANCELLATION POLICY

In the event of cancellation of tour / travel services due to any avoidable / unavoidable reason/s we must be notified of the same in writing. Cancellation charges will be effective from the date we receive advice in writing, and cancellation charges would be as follows:

  • Booking amount & Tickets: (Non Refundable)
  • 60 days prior to arrival: 50% of the Tour / service cost will be deducted
  • 45 days prior to arrival: 70% of the Tour / service cost will be deducted
  • 30 days prior to arrival: No Refund
